  • more than can be done in class
  • students are at a distance
  • no money for travel
  • need time and distance flexibility

  • need variety of media, branching, linking, multiple quick calcuations
  • use class time differently
  • meet student expectations
  • easier to distribute or update
  • students can think/work when and where they want to

Consider these possible issues if moving the activity online:

  • will the function work with a keyboard and monitor

Consider these possible issues if moving the activity online:

  • significant time to prepare and use online
  • significant help to prepare and use online
  • is material already available somewhere

Are the students:

  • self disciplined?
  • motivated?
  • have the time to complete the activity?
  • solid independent learners?
  • prepared, is there need to provide an orientation?

Do the students have:

  • hardware
  • software
  • plugins
  • necessary server connections
