(click to open a map in a new browser window)This session of the continuing vuDAT Breakfast Series was delivered in a slightly different format then its predecessor. Many of our faculty members were actively participating in the adoption of Angel, our new Learning Management System, (LMS) in its first semester at Michigan State University. So, for this session we had no faculty on the panel. Anne Hunt from Michigan State University Libraries, Computing & Technology Training Program (LCTTP) gave an overview of the LMS Survey, Poll and Quiz items and vuDAT producers who currently work with instructors illustrated some of the ways MSU faculty have incorporated these three components of the Angel system into their online learning environments.
Target audience: Faculty who currently teach online courses who want to know more about the dynamics of online assessments and surveys. Faculty who teach traditional classroom courses and are interested in online tools to supplement and support their courses.
Issues Explored:
- The differences between a Survey, a Poll, and a Quiz
- How to decided which one to use
- Which question format to use
- Incorporating images into Quizzes and Surveys
- How Surveys, Polls, and Quizzes in a traditional class map to an online environment
- Tips on maintaining the integrity of online testing
