Pedagogy design considerations

modified Dec 14th, 2006

There are design considerations that affect how you want to teach.

The definition of pedagogy from Dictionary.com follows:

pedagogy
n 1: the principles and methods of instruction [syn: teaching method, pedagogics] 2: the profession of a teacher; "he prepared for teaching while still in college"; "pedagogy is recognized as an important profession" [syn: teaching, instruction] 3: the activities of educating or instructing or teaching; activities that impart knowledge or skill; "he received no formal education"; "our instruction was carefully programmed"; "good teaching is seldom rewarded" [syn: education, instruction, teaching, educational activity]

The methods by which instruction is delivered are varied. Selecting a sound model, one grounded in the science of education as the basis of your teaching is one way to promote success. Combining models and using multiple styles can make teaching and learning an exciting and compelling experience.
